This notebook lock has been designed for use on USB sockets that comply with the USB specification. If a USB socket on particularly compact devices has a special design it may happen that there are no mechanical recesses. A notebook lock, however, needs these recesses to lock safely. The function of the lock may therefore be restricted on such devices.
