Note for Consumers
To integrate the smart window contact into the WiFi network, a Zigbee-enabled smart home hub is required (not included in the extent of delivery), e.g. Hama Smart Home Hub or the Hama heating central control unit.
Amazon Alexa/Google Assistant:
To do this, the Alexa skill "Hama Smart Home" must have been activated in the Alexa App/"Hama Smart Home" service must have been activated in the Google Home App. The user account for the Hama Smart Home app is then connected Alexa / Google.
Or use a Matter-enabled smart home hub such as 00176637.
This allows the devices to be controlled via voice control (switching on/off). -

Can I also use the window contact with Homematic?
No, direct use with the window contact with Homematic is not possible. Only via time-consuming and complicated detours, e.g. integrating both systems into Alexa, Google Assistant or Apple Home and linking them together.

Can I use the window contact for Home Assistant?
Yes, the window contact can be used for Home Assistant. You can integrate the window sensor via Matter, Tuya Integration, Zigbee Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT.

I already have a hub from another manufacturer, can I also use this for the window contact?
Yes, but only if it is a Zigbee-enabled smart home hub that supports door and window contacts. Please note: support for contact sensors depends on both the respective smart home hub and the associated app and cannot be guaranteed by us.

Can the WiFi door / window contact be used on all doors and windows?
The door contact can be used with both rebated and un-rebated doors.
With rebated doors, you can attach the narrow part of the door contact to the side of the door leaf using the adhesive pad supplied and the wider part with the battery unit to the door frame. This allows the 10 mm maximum distance to be maintained with ease.
This should work for almost all doors and windows that are not flush with the frame.
